His appetite for creation and performance is not satisfied by one pseudonym, but by two more aliases Mariel Ito, and Maetrik Live, each having there own unique production & performance style. Maceo regularly makes high profile appearances on the worlds biggest stages in places like Amsterdam, Berlin, Ibiza, New York and anywhere else the planet’s dance music elite gather.

Maceo Plex’s history

Born in Miami to first generation Cuban Immigrants, he grew up in one of America’s most vibrant cities, where everyone has a little bit of rhythm in their DNA. As a young man he naturally took to music, becoming obsessed with IDM, Techno, and Breaks as he worked his way into Miami’s legendary party scene. His older brother a professional dancer would expose a young Plex, to the break-beat and electro scene in Miami. This futuristic music & hip style combined with his latin roots would plant the seeds for his ever-evolving sound. Moving to Dallas, in the early 90’s he continued to develop his love for electronic music. Consumed with his new passion he would buy his first piece of production gear a MPC drum machine by saving his earning as a dishwasher at a local restaurant.

Maceo, conocido por aquel entonces como Eric Entity, empezaría a forjar su audiencia mundial durante el boom de las raves de finales de los 90. Dallas serviría de base para su carrera profesional en la música de baile, donde actuaba bajo su alias Maetrik. No sería hasta 2010 que la identidad de Maceo Plex se haría realidad después de que él y su esposa se mudaran a Valencia, España, dejando todo lo que habían conocido atrás en busca de algo más. Maceo Plex destaca por encima de la multitud de DJs y productores gracias a su genuino amor por la música y su extraña habilidad para crear algo nuevo y único. Maceo Plex ya ha entrado en el aire rarificado y no muestra signos de desaceleración, ya que sigue empujando su música en nuevas direcciones y llevando su actuación a nuevas alturas.
